These clips from local news broadcast all over the country demonstrate rather clearly the even the local news is, at least in part, scripted from a central location an from there disseminated to local outlets.

Violet's first parent-teacher conference
Alyssa just got back from Violet's parent-teacher conference. Violet's kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Evans, said, "I have nothing but glowing things to say about Violet. She is kind and compassionate. If any of her classmates are going through something, you can see it on Violet's face. She is right there for her classmates and very caring." The teacher also said that Violet is very smart. She is sounding things out. And, the kicker ... "her M's are lovely!"
