Two news choppers crashed into each other while covering a police car chase in Phoenix. The local authorities say the fleeing suspect might be charged with the deaths of the four people who went down in the helicopters. If you're in a car chase with the cops and someone happens to die, are you liable for murder?

Counting the Cost

What has cost the U.S. taxpayers almost half a trillion dollars, and now costs $275 million every day, $11 million each hour, $191,000 every minute, and $3,180 each second?

Little bit of trivia for you.

Some of you may believe that things can’t get worse than George Bush. Perhaps this is true but allow me to offer an alternative opinion.

One day the privileged rich kid, Franklin Pierce woke up and decided he wanted to be the 14th president of the United States. He convinced a college buddy, Nathaniel Hawthorne, to write his autobiography which was published in 1852, “The Life of Franklin Pierce”. Can you imagine the literary genius of the time, Nathaniel Hawthorne writing your life story? The results for Pierce were phenomenal. He defeated both Stephen Douglas and James Buchanan (a suspected homosexual) to gain the presidency in 1853. During his term in office Franklin Pierce probably did more than any single individual in history to encourage the start of the Civil War. Pierce, to this day remains the only president NOT to receive the nomination for his second term from his own party! After which he got drunk, jumped on a horse and rode over a woman.

So you are asking, what does this have to do with George W. Bush? Well this is where it gets interesting. George’s father is of course, George Sr, a single termer. Dubya’s mother is Barbara Bush. Formerly Barbara Pierce, a direct descendent of none other that Franklin Pierce!!
Perhaps its not so much that Dubya sucks, it’s just that it’s in his genes. There have been numerous piss poor leaders at the helm of the United States. Frankly, the majority are purely mediocre at best. Practically all are privileged Protestant rich white males.

I say its time to consider an alternative. Someone who believes in the constitution over ego. Someone who is a Washington outsider, who gains criticism for his rational views and logical message. I think the USA is overdue for someone who has the interest of the country in mind and not someone only focused on preserving money and power.

Do you think Iran is a threat to the United States?

Here are a few facts. Iran has not invaded anyone in the past 100 years. Iran has from the beginning insisted that its nuclear program is for peaceful energy purposes, and there has been no evidence – I repeat, no evidence – to the contrary. The Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty explicitly authorizes countries to enrich uranium. In other words, Iran has not done anything illegal.

Iran has no intercontinental missiles, and the only country in the Middle East with nuclear weapons is Israel. Iran has signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Israel has refused to sign it. Iran admits international inspectors. Israel flatly refuses to allow international inspectors. The only country in today's Middle East with weapons of mass destruction and a history of invading and occupying other people's countries is Israel.
