Trainor Place

Trainor Place

I found a baby sparrow with a broken wing. It's been outside quite a while. I gave it food and water but it's getting dark and we have stray cats that come around. I debated weather or not or not to just leave him alone and let nature takes its course. I couldn't. I remembered our "Baby" from McPherson Circle. I scooped him up in a box while wondering if he would be happier being eatne by a cat. Anyone have any ideas how to care for him? I could use some advice. Carol

Could you bring it inside for the night? Maybe the wing will heal in a couple of days?
This is sad!

at the pet food store, they have food for baby birds and a device to feed them with.

paste that link into your browser. It looks like a very good site with information on baby birds.

Yes, I did bring it inside. I put him in a small box with some paper towells, food and water. He is settled down for the night in his box, beside my parakeets cage. Hope he is still alive in the morning. Will keep you all posted as I'm sure you all will want to know the outcome of this case.

I think it was the paper towels.

carol you should have gotten some sponsors ($$$) while the bird was still around. who knows what could have happened with some good funding...

Funny thing happened. The bird spontaneously woke after I thought it was dead. I felt sad disposing of the little body so put it off and it's a good thing I did, becasue it woke up around 6 hours after I thought it had expired. It's just wonderful and is thriving and happy. Now I'd like to get some sponsors for this little bird (since no one sent donations for the funeral). I'm creating a foundation that will support "The Care and Feeding of Birds" Send donations to 901 Dolly Drive Lake Elsinore CA. 92530
