What have you learned this year?

Have you grown? Have you matured? Are you a better person now? Share with us, just one little tidbit. And, how will you be better next year?

Uncle Hank has grown "old" and matured none. But he is totally aware of the wonder of the world. Violet Tavia Catherine Burke has been in our care for only a year, but just think about how many persons she has already inspired. The more love she gives to each of us, the more she receives in return. I cannot imagine how much that will mean to her throughout life. Soon she will realize how muich fun it is to be with her cousins and everybody. I can also imagine some others who joined our family recently, including Gina Burke Garrett and Rick's adoption of Zoey, 10, Ali 7 abd Lula 7, in Gulfport, Florida, and how neat it will be to see them for the first time in June of 2007 right here in Redondo, Dana Point,San Clemente, and San Juan Capistrano. Yes, it has been worth getting old just to be part of all of this.

...that 6 gallons of bath water mixed with 1 bottle of hydrogen peroxide and one-half box of Borax laundry detergent, will actually cure a dog's mange within a few days. Well, if you put your dog in the tub.
...that sometimes, when a situation seems hopeless, you can actually turn it around by changing the way you think.
...that people you thought were your friends can actually turn out to be backstabbers, and people you thought were your enemies can actually end up being your best friends.

And that just about covers it. My goal is to break that record and learn more in 2007.
