Bush is trying to permanently widen FBI prerogatives in opening investigations of US citizens before leaving office. The new guidelines would allow the F.B.I. to open an investigation of an American, conduct surveillance, pry into private records and take other investigative steps “without any basis for suspicion.” The plan “might permit an innocent American to be subjected to such intrusive surveillance based in part on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, or on protected First Amendment activities.”

Great news!!
This is truly a great milestone if this were to be passed!!
No longer will the government's power be restricted, i feel that true freedom, true protection for terrorism is just around the corner!
Really anonymous?
well of course you silly girl, you!
just like phone tapping, and unquestioned public searches of personal items, the FBI needs this new bill to help them do their job, which would be protecting you among others. Don't you agree??
