Robert/Dad wrote: Today on the way home I was thinking about Alyssa (and fighting back the tears). The night she was born was a long one, especially for Lynette. She was born about 3:00 AM. She was born in Riverside at Riverside Community Hospital. I drove home early that morning to Elsinore using HWY 74 between Perris and Elsinore.

About half way home I was thinking about names. I liked Melissa but Lynette didn’t. I was working at Murrieta Hot Springs at the time and we were planting a beautiful little flowering plant at various locations around the resort. That plant was Alyssum also known as Sweet Alyssum. I took Melissa and Alyssum and added them together and came up with Alyssa. As it turned out she was Sweet Alyssa.

Alyssa was a very sweet little girl and always watching out for her little sister Tavia. Violet is Alyssa all over again. I clearly see that same sweet little girl in Violet. I thank God for this wonderful family! Happy Birthday Alyssa! I love you very much.

Omg, me too! I think you're a great father and grandfather, Bob! I don't care what they say. :)

Oh Bob, that's a great story.
Alyssa, was so special. I felt like she belonged to me. I remember taking her into that little yellow bedroom on McPherson when she was just born. I rocked her and carried her around, picked her up and put her down. I was only like 5 or 6. I can't believe Linnette left me alone like that with her. It was so fun. And I only dropped her twice.

Yes, Bob, that was a moving piece you wrote about your daughter. If I was her I'd print it up fancy in big letters, frame it and hang it in a special spot on my wall.

Happy birthday Alyssa! I love you!
