Here's my short opinion -- What's yours?

I was just watching Fox News and they were showing some pictures of the soldiers who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan. Then words scrolled up that said something to this effect:

HOW DO YOU THANK SOMEONE WHO RISKED ALL SO WE COULD CONTINUE OUR WAY OF LIFE

Okay, my opinion: The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan did more to DISRUPT our way of life than CONTINUE it. The costs of the wars are astronomical, we have less freedom now, and these poor soldiers were used (and are still being used) by our imperialist government.

I couldn't agree more.

And another thing I don't get is when people say that we owe so much to the men who've fought in wars because if they hadn't, we wouldn't have our freedom now.
That's such a line of baloney. First of all, we don't have our freedom, it's been taken away from us layer by layer, and what we see as "freedom" today is actually the proliferation of phony rights. Second, the only reason we've had freedom is because our founding fathers had the wisdom to set up a government that protected our God-given rights. We'd have more freedom, and this nation would still be a beacon of hope to the world, if we had followed Jefferson's advice "Peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations; entangling alliances with none."

Agreed. So sad for them. I really like Adam Kokesh - Iraq Veterans Against the War.

So sad that they lost thier lives and I mean that with all sincerety. Since I have studied Pat's dads role in WWII, I have come to realize what a waste of precious life wars are. And the U.S. will continue to stick their noses into the business of other countires and more lives will be wiped off the face of the earth and for what? For power, oil and revenge, for NOTHING!

You're exactly right, Carol, I agree. It's very sad for the men who've fought in wars, and the ones in Iraq, because they're trained to go where they're sent, do what they're told, and not ask questions! Wars are such a waste of lives, regardless of which side!

Yeah when they sign up for the military, they are under the false impression that they will be sent to fight CONSTITUTIONAL wars. There should be a clause that they can drop out at any time if the war they are sent to is unconstitutional.

Right Anonymous. The U.S. has "Declared war" 5 times in our short history. Yet we have been in a perpetual, continuous, unending state of war, especially since WWII? We are in 151 different countries. They need bodies, young men and women to do the dirty work. They are nothing more than a fly on the wall as far as their worth to the warmongers who advance their imperialistic agendas. And as we've seen Obama is no better than Bush.

THE WAY THINGS ARE MAKES ME SCARED TO MAKE ANY REMARKS. THEY HAVE US ALL RIGHT WHERE THEY WANT US AND REMEMBER THERE IS NO REAL, I MEAN REAL FREEDOM!
