How's that change workin for ya? ha. (Or I should say, how's that Bush II working for ya? ha.)

I went to the video on YouTube and couldn't help commenting throughout it (below) and expect to be picked up anytime. ha. No but really, nothing surprises anymore.

Nothing but harassment! Makes makes me ashamed to be an American.

Compliments of the Patriot Act no doubt.

They never had a chance! They were treated like criminals the second they opened their mouth. They were totally innocent. The border guards only showed how small they are!

How would you like to travel to Canada and be treated like that by Canada?! This is an outrage!

Wow, I was so enraged listening to that. It all sounds pretty FAMILIAR to me.

Robert said: The question "what store are you going to" is what made the guy go off. Being questioned by government idiots and to argue with them and then the guy's wife goes off like a nut case. Could this be fake, to make people like you react the way you did? Anti-government propaganda?

I can tell this isn't fake. And, there are plenty of other documented cases of authorities misusing their positions to abuse innocent civilians. Obstructing justice or obstructing an officer is a "blank check" used to write against people that the officer feels have "a bad attitude." It is not against the law to have a bad attitude, to disagree with a police officer, or to engage in a little constitutionally-protected backtalk. I know that if you do, you will most likely be arrested, but that just shows how far we have strayed from the Constitution and the freedom that we used to have.

The agent didn’t really want to know “which stores” he was going to, he was simply doing an “attitude check.” There should be a big sign at the border that reads, ‘ATTITUDE CHECK STATION”

I don't think the guy "went off". After asking, “what stores?” the agent received his answer, “I don’t know”. The guy then laughingly asked, “does it matter?” BINGO. He failed the attitude test. The agent didn’t even let him finish his answer, which was “we haven’t set our itinerary yet” before he demanded his keys. The agent could have easily deflected the situation by letting his “offending” question (shame, shame for thinking logically and expressing it), roll off his back. After all, he got his answer.

Yes, Carol -- Well said -- The border patrol guy got his answer, but he didn't like the tone.
