And, you thought slavery was abolished?

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
July 15, 2010
Mr. RANGEL introduced the following bill
H.R.5741 -- Universal National Service Act

________________________________________

To require all persons [girls, too] in the United States between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform national service, either as a member of the uniformed services or in civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, to authorize the induction of persons in the uniformed services during wartime ... and for other purposes.

It is the obligation of every citizen of the United States, and every other person residing in the United States, who is between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform a period of national service [which] shall be performed either--
as a member of the uniformed services; or in a civilian capacity that, as determined by the President, promotes the national defense, including national or community service and service related to homeland security.

A person may be inducted to perform military service only if--
(1) a declaration of war is in effect;
(2) the President declares a national emergency
(3) members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps are engaged in a contingency operation pursuant to a congressional authorization for the use of military force.

Persons who do not volunteer to perform military service or are not inducted for military service shall perform their national service obligation in a civilian capacity.

The period of national service performed by a person under this title shall be two years.

The President shall prescribe such regulations such as the types of civilian service ... and the penalties for failure to perform civilian service satisfactorily.

This corrupt man is proposing to disrupt the lives of millions, yet a congressional subcommittee is expected to formally announce charges Thursday that the 40-year incumbent abused his office. He faces a trial in the House. Last week, a congressional investigation concluded that Mr. Rangel had violated ethics rules.

No doubt Obama is the actual source of this proposal it's very similar to what he proposed in his campaign.

At Washington Watch, two people commented on this proposed law:

This is funny considering that Hitler did the same thing the Civilian Youth Camps, and now slavery?

AND:

What are they going to do, show up at your house with a swat team and take someone off to the re-education camp if you refuse?

I remember reading they tried this in Australia, but so many people wouldn't show up that they finally rescinded it.

Another comment I just saw on this bill:

I can't believe that people are actually supporting this giant step towards dictatorship. Shame on you, Charlie Rangel. This bill must be stopped at all costs to preserve the freedom of all Americans.

I stopped by to mention something to you all.

From all I have read we are hell bent on war with Iran and soon, and this Rangel bill ties right in. The approaching war with Iran is one reason why they want every American to be available for service.

NOTICE THIS TIMELINE:

On July 22nd (week and a half a go), House Resolution 1553 was proposed, which "Expresses support for Israel’s right to use “all means necessary to confront and eliminate nuclear threats posed by Iran”.

On July 15th, just a week before that, the ‘Universal Service Act’ is introduced to the US House of Representatives and only 7 days later House Resolution 1553, which blatantly supports a military strike against Iran ! ! !

H.R. 5741, cited as the ‘Universal National Service Act’; proposed by Congressman Charles Rangel, a Democrat from New York, on July 15th, 2010 to the US House of Representatives:

To require all persons in the United States between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform national service, either as a member of the uniformed services or in civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, to authorize the induction of persons in the uniformed services during wartime to meet end-strength requirements of the uniformed services, and for other purposes.

Ahmadinijad just said in an interview last week he has specific intelligence that the U.S. is going to war with Iran within 3 months. The ex-head of the CIA said a US war with Iran is now unstoppable no matter what.

Who knows just when the war will be, but war preparations to attack Iran are in "an advanced state of readiness". Hi tech weapons systems including nuclear warheads are fully deployed.

This was always the plan, FIRST IRAQ, THEN IRAN.

Here's a long, mind blowing article (just one of many lately) about how crazy our leaders have become in their lust for war.
