"You can't just tell people what to do! There's laws!"

I'm not sure I get the point of this video. I mean, the cop didn't have the right to tell her to go away, because she wasn't impeding the workers from doing their job, but I don't get why she kept bringing "being told the truth" stuff. Maybe I'm missing something?
And maybe there were so few people on the beach because of the oil spill, but that's understandable. What was her point?

She was nervous, but she seemed to be more concerned about being “lied to” than the fact that her first amendment rights are being violated. But she stood her ground. They are cracking down on freedoms everywhere.

Journalists are making a big deal about the BP/police state/government control being exerted on the gulf because it’s easy to protest (good article in Salon by Greenwald- BP has bought local law enforcement) . If they spoke out as freely about how they are strong armed by AIPAC (and others) when it comes to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, I’d have some real respect for them.
