I heard this testimony to the character of the Japanese people on NPR radio: The story told that in the region hardest hit, many were thirsty and strewn in the debris were soda vending machines, but no Japanese citizen would dream of prying them open.
I can't think of the right word to say as I am watching this. You can't help but wonder which of those little dots are actually human beings being swept away. Devastating. Yeah John, I also heard there is no looting in Japan.
