The Treasury Department shows the national debt has now increased $4 trillion under Obama.

The debt was $10.626 trillion on the day Obama took office. Now it is $14.639 trillion.

It's the most rapid increase in the debt under any U.S. president.

The national debt increased $4.9 trillion during the eight-year presidency of George W. Bush. The debt now is rising at a pace to surpass that amount during Mr. Obama's four-year term.

IF this chart is correct, it is misleading. It shows the cumulative damage of eight years for all the presidents (except for Bush Sr.'s four-year term). But, it shows Obama's damage for only two years. I don't think Reagan's figure is correct. Another chart on Wikileaks puts his damage at 79%. But, Reagan was a big spender, for sure. This chart also may not be adjusted for inflation.
