Dubious means uncertain, skeptical, doubtful, questionable. "When he predicted that we would be out of debt in six months, we were dubious." In that sentence, dubious means skeptical, but you could also say: "He got into trouble for selling art works of dubious origin." In that case, dubious means questionable.
