"I sincerely believe ... that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies, and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity under the name of funding is but swindling futurity on a large scale." -- Thomas Jefferson to John Taylor, 1816.

The wisdom of the Founding Fathers just looks more wise all the time, doesn't it, now more than ever.
Wanted to submit this bit of info about Ron Paul. Food for thought:
Hmmm, let's see. Rather than take taxpayer funded Medicare and Medicaid payments in his practice, he arranged payments or worked for *free* for needy patients.
He has the record for the most single person votes against spednding money of anyone in Congress.
He has never voted for raising taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a congressional raise.
Never taken a government (taxpayer!) paid junket.
He does not participate in the congresional pension plan.
