The mom, climbing up onto the pole and refusing to come down (at first) to stop them from taking it down. Said mom afterwards, “All I was seeing was my 10-year-old’s face.”

The law that was being violated by the basketball hoop says that you can't have hoops, trees, shrubs or anything else within seven feet of the pavement in a subdivision; if you do, the cops can seize the item.

So why didn't the owner remove the hoop himself if it is against the law?

Another thought, as a motorist, I think it's a good idea that the streets be kept clear of anything that would encourage children to play in the street. Just driving along minding my own business and then some punk kids won't get out of my way when I come upon their game.

The wife on the pole is so funny. I wish she had of been up there when they came back.

Also, I would have whacked that city worker/chick with my cane if I were the homeowner.

I wonder why the lady lied to him and told him he could keep it. And WHY didn't she let him keep it?

Chaz- You once said when another motorist honked at you "Hey pal don't get upset at me, i'm just trying to navigate my way around this world just like you are!" I thought the quote was incredibly wise and memorable. Those "punk kids" are just trying to navigate their way around this world just like you when they were minding thier own business playing ball! Food for thought.

Anon.-I think the female officer intentionally lied, and made it a point to make sure he didn't get his poll. Street police are an extension of the hand of Federal Goverment, and they love it instill fear, helplessness. It's how they retain control. This country needs nothing less then a complete political clensing. Fucking Egypt style!
