Congressman Paul Returns Unused Portion of Office Budget to US Treasury PDF Print E-mail
Washington, DC: Congressman Ron Paul has returned $141,580 of unspent office funds to the US Treasury. This represents just over 9% of the total office funds, and an increase over the $100,000 returned last year.
"Since my first year in Congress I have managed my office in a frugal manner, instructing staff to provide the greatest possible service to the people of the 14th district at the least possible cost to taxpayers," said Paul.
The surplus funds are intended to go towards paying down the national debt.

He MUST be the ONLY government official that does that. Don't you think?
No, I don't think he is the only person to do that. So.....
Well, wait a minute, maybe he is the only one.
No, on second thought, I guess there might be a few others.
Well, probably not.
That is very funny. I really didn't write those last four comments up there. Someone just put my name on them. LOL. But, the reason, I said that he is not the only one is because I read an article that says that if they overspend their allotment, they have to use their own money. So, actually there are quite a few that don't spend it all. One guy in Texas only spent 77% of his allotment, giving back $272,000.
No, wait a minute, that article was about something else. Disregard that last statement. Maybe that was a dream I had.
