Little Miss Sunshine
Do me a favor. Go see this movie.
It's such a good human condition film. I was prepared to absolutely hate it when I sat down in the theatre. I'm so glad I saw it!
When you have seen it, please do a little review here.

Tavia's Advertisement for her Work
Where Tavia works, they are passing out baby bottles with M&M's in them. They are using the following for the baby bottles (isn't it cute?):.......................................................................
.........................................................................................
.......................................
.........................................................................................
.......................................
But, as cute as that is, I think they should make one change (don't you agree?):?):.......................................................................

Junk II
Well I'm up early because I'm going on a fishing boat today. Pretty cool huh? Lame. Waiting for my ride I decided to keep the wierd knowledge alive by posting this:
Upper and lower case letters are named 'upper' and 'lower', because in the time when all original print had to be set in individual letters, the 'upper case' letters were stored in the case on top of the case that stored the smaller, 'lower case' letters. The proper term for upper case letters is "majuscule" and for lower case it's "minuscule".

Interesting facts
An "Interesting Facts" post is Lisa's idea. So, if there is a fact that you have always wanted to share, here's your chance. Click on "Comments" and post your fact(s). Here are a few to get you started.
"Fan" is an abbreviation for the word "fanatic." Toward the turn of the 19th century, various media referred to football enthusiasts first as "football fanatics," and later as a "football fan."
A coward was originally a boy who took care of cows.
There are six words in the English language with the letter combination "uu." Muumuu, vacuum, continuum, duumvirate, duumvir and residuum.
EXCEPT FOR ONE, all the nations of the world that begin with the letter "A" also end with the letter "A" (for example, Albania, Algeria, Argentina--what are some others?). What is the one nation that begins with the letter "A" but does NOT end with the letter "A." EXCEPT FOR ONE. What is it? (Click on Comments for the Answer)

Shavawn is a great teacher!
Shavawn just got the results of her students' California Standard scores. Last year these kids were in the third grade. And, at that time, under other teachers, eight percent of these kids scored proficient or advanced. Eight percent! Not too good, huh? But, in Shavawn's school there are a lot of English-Language learners (Spanish-speaking) students. Now they are in the fourth grade, in Shavawn's class. This year the goal for every teacher was to get 26 percent of the class to score proficient. Well, Shavawn's class scored higher than any other 4th-grade classroom! 44 percent of her students scored proficient! From eight percent to 44 percent! The consultant told her, "You really pulled the fourth-grade team through!"

She likes Garrett!
Violet was on the blanket on the floor with her bottle. Garrett was laying on the floor, too, watching television. At first she used her right arm to try to touch his arm, but she couldn't quite reach. So, then she rolls over and uses her left arm as you can see here. It was really cute. ............................................................................................................................................................................

Loves her Mommy
Garrett and I walked to the store with Violet in her stroller. Alyssa had been working all day, but she got home before we got back from the store. This is Violet's reaction upon seeing Alyssa come out to meet her. Notice how her hands are blurry in one of the pictures. That's because she's moving them up and down so fast, so excited to see her mommy. Isn't that adorable? ...............................................................................................................................................................

Garrett's Ride at Staterland
Garrett and I went to Staters the other day and right off he hops in the front part of the grocery cart and is in there the entire time I shopped, even while going through the check out stand. It was so funny. I expected an employee to walk up any moment and tell us this was not allowed, but besides a few amused looks, the employees were nice as usual. I pulled out my cell phone camera a few times to capture the moment for posterity but each time he covered his head in time. ha.
